News: Addo Sign expands e-Boks mailings – now also send to recipients with name and address

Companies that already send documents to e-Boks digital mail via Addo Sign will soon have a new option: being able to send digital letters simply by entering the recipient's name and address.

The new solution looks up e-Boks to identify the correct person and confirm that they have consented to receive address mailings – provided there is a correct match between name and address.

This means that you no longer need to know the recipient's social security number, which normally serves as the unique key in e-Boks. However, it's important to understand that sending to address in e-Boks requires both name and address to ensure that the letter is delivered to the correct registered recipient. It is also a prerequisite that the recipient has given consent to receive letters in e-Boks based on address information. Around 4.3 million Danes have already done so – and the number continues to rise.

Secure and efficient digital communication via e-Boks

When you send via e-Boks, your messages are delivered directly to the recipient's secure mailbox. This means you avoid insecure emails that can end up in spam or be overlooked.

e-Boks is a trusted platform where recipients expect important messages – so your messages are much more likely to be read and handled quickly. At the same time, you save time and resources by digitizing your mailings: no manual handling of physical letters, no printing and postage costs – just an efficient and fully digital process. This provides both financial savings and a more environmentally friendly solution.

By sending through e-Boks without a CPR number, you also minimize the handling of personal data and ensure that your communication complies with current GDPR regulations, giving you a GDPR-compliant digital mail.

Responsible use and requirements for senders

Both e-Boks and Addo Sign work to promote efficient digital communication between businesses and citizens – but we are also the end-users' guarantee that household advertising cannot be sent through e-Boks. Therefore, any company wishing to use the feature must be approved and, of course, comply with the applicable conditions for using our Addo Sign e-Boks integration.

Get started today
As a company, you can already create an Addo Sign account via e-Boks Erhverv and send letters to recipients in their e-Boks using the CPR number as the recipient key. Delivery to address is expected to be launched at the end of the year. Until then, you can get started with e-Boks shipments via CPR number – and we will share more information about the onboarding process for address shipments in e-Boks as we get closer to the launch.
