We’ve improved our Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) integration to support many-to-many group mapping, giving you a more flexible and scalable way to manage access and permissions in Addo Sign.
This update is especially valuable for organizations that want to simplify administration while maintaining strong control over user access.
What’s new?
Addo Sign now supports many-to-many mappings between Azure Entra ID groups and Addo Sign groups.
This means you can now map:
- One Azure Entra ID group to multiple Addo Sign groups
- Multiple Azure Entra ID groups to the same Addo Sign group
In practice, this gives you much more flexibility when deciding who should be able to view or manage specific groups in Addo Sign.
Why this matters
In many organizations, access management can quickly become complex. Different departments may need different permissions, and the same people may need access across several areas.
With this update, you can reuse existing Azure Entra ID groups across multiple Addo Sign groups instead of creating separate role groups for every department or team.
This helps you:
- Reduce manual administration
- Reuse existing Azure Entra ID groups
- Keep access management centralized
- Minimize the risk of incorrect permissions
- Create a setup that is easier to maintain as your organization grows
A simple example
Imagine your organization has three groups in Addo Sign:
- HR
- Sales
- Administration
Instead of creating separate administrator groups for each department, you can create one Azure Entra ID group, for example:
Addo Group administrators
You then add the relevant users to this Azure group and map it to the Group administrator role for HR, Sales, and Administration in Addo Sign.
The result is that the same users receive the correct administrator rights across multiple Addo Sign groups, while you only need to maintain one group in Azure Entra ID.
More granular control with group roles
In addition to the standard Administrator and Standard user roles, Addo Sign also supports group-specific roles:
- Group administrator – can manage a specific group
- Group viewer – can view a specific group without making changes
These roles allow you to give users access only where it is needed, without giving them full access to the entire system.
Built for real-world organizations
Many companies already use Azure Entra ID as the central place for managing users and access. This update makes it easier to extend that structure into Addo Sign.
Whether your organization is structured by department, business unit, geography, or responsibility area, flexible group mapping gives you more control without adding unnecessary complexity.
Getting started
To use flexible group mapping, you need to:
- Create or identify the relevant groups in Azure Entra ID
- Find the Object ID of each Azure Entra ID group
- Go to Settings in Addo Sign
- Select Entra ID configuration
- Click Add mapping
- Choose the Addo Sign group, role, and Azure Group ID
You can repeat this process for each group and role combination you want to configure.
